How We Serve Our Members Safety Training and Certification In cooperation with Cal OSHA, URCA is continually working to upgrade job standards and working conditions. URCA conducts workshops that address the major safety concerns of the industry. URCA provides member contractor employees with up to date safety training including CPR, Fall Protection, Forklift Certification, Respiratory, Confined Space, and more. Employee Eligibility Verification Program The EEV Certification Program trains URCA contractors to understand and meet their obligations to verify new employee's eligibility to work in the US, and certifies that the contractor has met the requirements to participate in the Federal E-Verify program. Legislative Activities URCA maintains a vigilant stance on California and Federal issues that directly affect property owners and managers, and the performance of its member contractors as it pertains to roofing, waterproofing, and contracting. Environmental Green technology and environmental issues are here to stay and URCA member contractors are in constant training with current technologies as well as future means of providing state-of-the-art service in areas such as photo voltaic and energy saving cool roof systems. Community Activities Members of URCA are a giving group. URCA provides resources to needy organizations including Central Los Angeles Rebuilding Together Project, Bob Hope USO LAX, Bob Hope Burbank and Ontario airports, and a financial contribution to the Wounded Warriors Foundation. Membership Meetings URCA continues to keep its contractor members informed of industry issues with membership meetings such as its annual General Membership Meetings. Past meetings have included the announcement and implementation of Workers’ Comp group insurance, and a meeting with guests from the Los Angeles Mayor’s Office and the L.A.
